Abstract
This paper presents the simulator-driven, scenario-based testing approach used to support the development, evaluation, and demonstration of a thermal power dispatch concept of operations for existing commercial light water reactors. The paper presents the multi-year research plan, which includes using several different fidelity simulators. Specifically, reduced order models are used to evaluate the initial proof of concept and develop schemes to integrate the simulations cross a multi-facility site. The higher fidelity full-scope simulators can then be used to support human-operator-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop studies to develop and refine a concept of operations suitable for thermal power dispatch.
