Abstract

Chemical properties of a soil change with soil management. This study had as its objective to evaluate the chemical properties of soil under riparian reforestation after twenty years of planting in an area under savannah belonging to Experimental Station, FEPE/UNESP, of Engineering College of Ilha Solteira. Chemical analysis of the soil was accomplished (P, organic matter (MO), pH, K, Ca, Mg, H+Al, Al and S) in 33 modules, with 3 repetitions in two depths (0.0 - 0.20 and 0.20 - 0.40 m) in a randomized block design in a hierarchical outline. The results indicated that the chemical properties of soil under riparian reforestation are similar to the properties of the soil without human disturbance in this region. The species planted in riparian reforestation are contributing to the deposition of organic material enough to have a recycling of nutrients and maintain the chemical properties of soil in good condition to have the establishment of riparian vegetation.
