LA VILLA ROMANA DE VERANES (GIJÓN, ASTURIAS). APORTACIONES PRELIMINARES SOBRE LA TRANSFORMACIÓN FUNCIONAL DEL ASENTAMIENTO EN LA TARDÍA ANTIGÜEDAD

Abstract

Resumen A partir de las excavaciones realizadas en un amplio sector del patio norte de la villa romana de Veranes, se analiza la evolución cronoestratigráfica del asentamiento en los últimos momentos de su función como villa. Asimismo, se presenta una información preliminar sobre la transformación del yacimiento durante el periodo tardoantiguo. Abstract Based on the results of excavations carried out in a wide sector of the North Courtyard of the Roman Villa of Veranes, we have analysed the chrono-stratigraphic evolution of this settlement during its latest period functioning as a villa. In addition, we provide some preliminary information relating to the changes suffered by the archaeological site during the late Antiquity.
