Abstract

Oratosquilla septemdentata n.sp., is a new species of stomatopod from Halmahera. It is unique in Oratosquilla for bearing seven teeth on the raptorial claw. Although it corresponds to none of the current species groups within the genus, it comes closest to species of the Oratosquilla woodmasoni species group. Oratosquilla septemdentata is the only species of this genus known to occur in depths exceeding 400 m.
