Soft Computing in Decision Support Systems

Abstract

The complexity of modern decisions has caused organizations to become increasingly dependent on advanced intelligent technologies to quickly process large amounts of data and make informed decision. Decision support system (DSS) is a computer- based system that helps in the process of decision making. It is designed to support better-informed decision-making. It is used to support determinations, judgments, and courses of action in an organization. Intelligent decision support systems based on soft computing have attracted the attention of researchers and practitioners in a wide range of disparate areas from engineering to business. This paper is an introduction on the applications of soft computing in decision support system.
