Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio e acesso de estudantes surdos ao Ensino Superior Brasileiro

Abstract

Resumo Este trabalho apresenta as primeiras aproximações relativas à pesquisa "Acessibilidade e Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio: desafios para a escolarização de estudantes surdos", inserida no programa Observatório em Educação (Obeduc), Projeto Acessibilidade no Ensino Superior. Investiga dados oficiais publicados pelo Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas (Inep), referentes ao aumento progressivo do número de matrículas de estudantes surdos em Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES). Analisa questões relativas à nota obtida por esses estudantes, ao se submeterem ao Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (Enem), e o uso dessa nota para ingressarem em universidades brasileiras. Os dados analisados, no presente artigo, indicam discrepância de desempenho de estudantes sem deficiência, quando comparados aos estudantes surdos.Abstract Based on the results obtained by deaf students in the National Secondary Education Examination (ENEM), and on official statistics on the number of deaf students in higher education, this article argues that the underrepresentation of deaf students in higher education derives at least in part from the inadequate conditions of accessibility that characterize the exam. It discusses the steps that should be taken by the federal government in order to overcome this situation.
