Abstract

Wireless network streaming media flow has self-similar characteristics, in order to make prediction to the sudden self-similar traffic stream media in the network, through the establishment of wireless Mesh network streaming media self-similar network traffic ON/OFF model, author predict whether the wireless Mesh network traffic has self-similarity by linear minimum mean square error method. Through adopting general coding classification algorithm to realize data packet synchronization and meeting the requirements of packet encoding with different size and different rate, and the designed method can reduce self-similar stream, the network node queue length and delay time by network coding. In order to analyze the performance of self-similar stream using of network coding, this paper carried on the simulation in NS-2 which has the same function of network coding, and the simulation results show that this designed streaming media network coding method can improve the performance of the self-similar flow.
