Abstract

The oxygen diffusivities in liquid nickel and iron were measured using electrochemical cells of linear geometry. From the emf change consistent with the theoretical one, the oxygen diffusivity in liquid nickel at 1500 was calculated. The experiments on liquid iron were very difficult because of the internal current, and the diffusivity of oxygen in liquid iron at 1560 C was estimated with a wide confidence range.
