Abstract

In this theoretical note, we address the issue of stimulus-response compatibility (SRC). We propose an operational definition of the SRC variable and draw some implications of this definition for cognitive modeling. We also outline a general model of the controlled processes of response determination that accounts for the SRC phenomena reported in the literature. © 1990, The Psychonomic Soceity, Inc..
