Guaymas Basin: Sites 477, 478 and 481.

Abstract

The drill sites are shown in relation to heat flow transects and seismic reflection profiling, and the operations at each site are described. There are detailed sections describing rock types in each hole and associated liquids, and the physical properties and their correlation with seismic profiles. For hole 481 well-preserved piston cores were obtained for detailed physical property measurements. Other data presented includes chemical analyses of pore waters and information on faunas.
