Abstract

Age determination by means of assessment of the dentition is an application unique to forensic odontology. This process is especially relevant in those cases in which the rest of the skeletal remains are marred, as the tooth remains intact under adverse circumstances while the rest of the skeleton is obliter- ated. While the process remains complex, multiple methods have been devised to assess the dental age of an individual.
