Abstract

The homozygosity of a population will be influenced by any recent change in the population size. The 'homozygosity test' of the neutral mutation hypothesis might also be influenced by a population change. A computer stimulation method is described that establishes the significance levels of observed homozygosities after a change in population size. Some numerical examples are given.
