Abstract
This methodological study explores theoretical concepts including "communication with the school," "support and supervision of learning at home," and "knowledge of the school," which comprise the construct "family support and involvement in educational processes." The sample was taken from parents whose children study at six municipal schools in the city of Calama. For the purpose of this study, a quantitative methodology was used through a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The results of the analysis of the 32 items that comprise the instrument that was designed and applied suggest redundancy features above 60 % (p < 0.05) and point to the validity of the construct.
