Abstract

The aim of this article is to define wellbeing and why a GP’s wellbeing should be given special consideration. As social and economic pressures escalate, the demands on GPs also increase. This article presents some of the challenges with which GPs are faced, how a work/life balance can be achieved and describes the resources and support available to GPs. It also explores how reforms suggested by the RCGP in the document ‘Patients, doctors and the NHS 2022’ may impact on GP wellbeing.
