Abstract
We have proposed the simple modeling method for lateral resistance of retaining wall considering the backfill soil when a base-isolated structure collides without twisting into the elastic retaining wall in previous paper. This paper aims to confirm the applicability of the method in case of retaining wall with elasto-plastic property. First, we conduct the seismic response collision analysis of a base-isolated structure-soil interaction system using 3D-FEM, and estimate structure responses and impulse force. Next, we compare hysteresis loops of the retaining wall with backfill soil of the method with 3D-FEM analysis results. Then, we conduct collision analysis using the method, and compare its results with 3D-FEM analysis results to confirm the effectiveness of this method.
