Abstract
Cynicism is a concept that comes to change. While explaining the truth in ancient Greece, it was started to be used as negativity towards the organization. Cynicism, which is seen as an obstacle to organizational change and development, adversely affects employees' loyalty to the organization and hence the success of the employee and the organization. Positive psychological capital that emerged with positive psychology is characterized as the whole of the positive characteristics of the individual. Organization; Nowadays, when the employees come to the forefront with their psychological capital, the increase in the level of psychological capital of the employees positively affects the organization. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between organizational cynicism and psychological capital. In this research, conducted as a quantitative research, 389 teachers who were selected by stratified sampling than random sampling, working in the province of Mersin were reached and data were collected by a combination of personal information, organizational cynicism scale and psychological capital scale. As a result of the research, a significant negative correlation was found between psychological capital and organizational cynicism. In this respect, it was concluded that increasing the levels of psychological capital would be beneficial for the organization.
