Abstract
This study aims to examine how a local content titled "Bahasa Jawa Banten" is implemented in primary schools in accordance with the policy of the Serang City government. The researcher is the main instrument in this qualitative case study approach. According to the study's findings, the city of Serang has not implemented the 2013 curriculum requirements related to local content in learning Bahasa Jawa Banten properly. This is evident from several elements related to learning, specifically: 1) Based on government regulation number 32 of 2013, the implementation of local content in Bahasa Jawa Banten has not achieved the desired goals. The implementation of learning is not ideal because: 1) Teachers who teach this subject are less competent because they are not from the Bahasa Jawa Banten department; and 2) Some elementary school teachers still apply lecture and demonstration methods as the main learning mode. However, the 2013 curriculum objectives have not been fully achieved after using these two approaches, and they have not been fully implemented; In addition, the learning materials used are only based on the book provided by the Serang City Education Office, and the RPP structure is not well-organized.
