Abstract

This paper proposes the classification and resolution for feature interaction problem in integrated services of home network system (HNS) which comprised of several networked appliances. Feature interaction (FI) is a functional conflict that occurs when multiple integrated services are executed simultaneously. In our previous research, we have developed a method to define and detect feature interactions among the integrated services. Nonetheless, the issue of resolving the interactions still remains. Thus, in this paper, we present a classification method of feature interactions, and suitable resolution schemes for the interactions. Using the proposed method, it is possible to perform appropriate and precise resolution for each scenario in which feature interaction occurs. ©2007 IEEE.
