Abstract

The preferred orientation of clays produced by evaporation, centrifugation or suction methods follows an axially symmetrical Gaussian function. This can be completely described by a single parameter sigma * which can be measured using a one-dimensional pole figure determination or approximated from absolute diffraction intensity.-R.A.H.
