Abstract

Sustainability will increasingly become a strategic business factor for companies. Therefore, the companies' responsibility extends beyond their borders regarding products and processes and it involves a shared relationship with the other parts of the supply chain. Based on a single case study, the objective of this article is to analyze the management of a company's supply chain based on the concepts of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM). The findings indicate that the company pursues sustainability, seeking to develop operations with minimal impact on the environment and actions that aim to minimize social disparities. Nevertheless, there are clear gaps related to GSCM in terms of the integration and collaboration throughout the supply chain. It is known that such practices are recognized as potential strategic resources for the creation of competitive advantage. On the other hand, the set of all environmental actions taken by the company has allowed it to obtain certifications and awards. These facts have improved its image, enhanced competitiveness, created new business opportunities, allowed access to international markets and improved its operational and financial performance.
