Abstract

E-commerce plays a vital role in the success of businesses today. Technology is influencing all aspects of our lives from socializing, online education, e-medical services to online buying. Although, E-commerce has been in existence in developed countries for decades now, developing countries are still in their early stages of adoption. In case of Argentina, a Latin American nation, E-commerce is growing at a rapid rate as the data from Argentinian Chamber of E-commerce reveals. The impact of E-commerce in the country is already profound given its short period of existence. There are several benefits of E-commerce adoption compared to setting up a conventional brick and mortar store, it reduces transaction cost, efficient communication, removes intermediaries, widens target customer market, increases employee productivity. Despite, great importance, there is dearth of scholarly literature on E-commerce and its impact on consumer's purchasing trend. This paper aims at highlighting the importance of this topic and building scholarly literature which can be used by other researcher as foundation for further research.
