Abstract

This article aims to address the challenges journalism faces in relation to technological advancements, particularly generative artificial intelligence, and the transformations evident in categories such as information, independence, labor, and media. Based on a review of various documentary and bibliographic sources, an analysis of the current state of traditional media is conducted, alongside a diagnosis of the changes taking place in Colombia. The uses of artificial intelligence will be identified, and a reflection will be offered on ethics and the risks posed by digital networks, including issues like fake news, misinformation, and manipulation. Finally, a discussion is proposed on the regulation and access to these systems in a society where major digital conglomerates monopolize and concentrate power over communication, science, and technology.
