Abstract
Dipterocarpaceae is dominant family in Kalimantan forest region has high tree species diversity and importance value for economic, conservation or silvicultural aspect. This research was conducted to study the spesies diversity and potential of dipterocapaceae in Labanan forest research, East Kalimantan. The research used 3 sample plots which the size is 100 x 100 m. The observation was conducted to all of trees spesies of Dipterocarpaceae with diameter equal or larger than 10 cm. The results showed that the plots has high dipterocarpaceae spesies diversity according of Shannon- Wiever index diversity (H’=2.68) with total number of tree spesies are 29 or everage 9.67 spesies per ha. Sixth dominated spesies i.e. Parashorea melaanonan (Blanco) Merr. (NPJ=41.28%), Dipterocarpus tempehes V.Sl. (NPJ=39.32%), Shorea sp (NPJ=31.38%), Shorea johorensis Foxw. (NPJ=30.05%), Shorea parvifolia Dyer (NPJ=24.99%) and Shorea pinanga Scheff. (NPJ=24.85%). The total number of densities are 318 stem or average 106 stems per hectare and total volume of stand is 239.05 m³ or 79.68 m3per hectare. Frequency of dipterocarps about 93.33 % present in the sub-plot
