Abstract

One of the tropical rain forests in Indonesia is the Mount Halimun Salak National Park (GHSNP). This tropical rain forest is one of the largest rainforest areas in West Java. Natural conditions that are still beautiful and natural are relevant habitats for avifauna life. There are 204 bird species in GHSNP, 90 of which are permanent birds and 35 species are endemic to Java, one of which is the Javanese eagle (Nisaetus bartelsi). This study aims to obtain information about the diversity of bird species (avifauna) in Mount Halimun Salak National Park, precisely on the interpretation route from Cikaniki-Citalahab. The method used in this study is the point count method. This method is done by walking to a certain place, then marking the place and for about 10 minutes recording all the types found along with their numbers. The results showed that there were 49 bird species in Mount Halimun Salak National Park from 7 orders, 28 families and with a total of 195 bird species.
