Abstract
In this issue of Blood, Nazi and colleagues have demonstrated that patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who receive rituximab display impaired responses to immunization with pneumococcal and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccines. Although similar observations have been reported in patients with other disorders who have received rituximab, this is the first study to examine this issue in patients with ITP.1 © 2013 by The American Society of Hematology. doi:10.1182/blood-2013-07-515478.
