Abstract

Increasing digitalization creates exciting possibilities to develop novel processes and, at the same time, allows revisiting established options to gain a better understanding that leads to more efficient operating conditions. A prerequisite is the availability of suitable measurement techniques. Observation of process streams as well as driving forces are accompanied by solutions allowing the determination of phase compositions. Selected measurement techniques that significantly add to understanding crystallization processes are addressed in this contribution. Additionally, new developments in the areas of miniaturization and continuous processes as well as an innovative process for quasi-continuous filtration and drying of crystalline material are presented.
