Abstract

Paradoxical Intention and Dereflexion are treatments for psychogenic neurosis emerged from logotherapy and existential analysis of Viktor E. Frankl. The concern of the logotherapeutic method of paradoxical intention is to mobilize the ability to self-distancing within the framework of the treatment of psychogenic neurosis. The logotherapeutic method of dereflexion is based on the capacity for self-transcendence. The paradoxical intention enables the patient to ironize the neurosis. With the help of the dereflexion the patient is able to ignore the symptoms of his neurosis.
