Abstract

Preparative procedures are described for a new class of compounds containing the FC(NO2)2- moiety. Three general synthesis methods are most useful in this series: (1) fiuorination of 1,1-dinitro carbanion salts withperchloryl fluoride; (2) aqueous fiuorination of 1,1-dinitro carbanions (the Grakauskas reaction); (3) reactions of fluorotrinitromethane with a variety of nucleophiles. © 1968, American Chemical Society.
