Abstract

Informing, negotiating, and helping exports are the missions at the heart of French economic diplomacy that have gone through enormous changes since the late 1980s. It is important to know how they were structured following WWI under Étienne Clémentel, the Commerce and Industry minister and to update the French specificity that linked royal and commercial functions within the same public set-up.
