Abstract

The adult of Nybelinia surmenicola Okada in Dollfus, 1929 (Cestoda: Trypanorhyncha: Tentaculariidae) is described and illustrated for the first time. The sample was obtained from the stomach of the salmon shark, Lamna ditropis Hubbs et Follett, taken in the Bering Sea. A morphological comparison is briefly made of the cestode specimens in different developmental stages collected from the euphausiids, squid, walleye pollock and salmon shark, and a possible life-history of N. surmenicola is discussed. © 1975, The Japanese Society of Fisheries Science.
