Abstract
To adjust longitudinal profiles of little hilly fluvial streams, the LE ratio (exponential logarithmic) can be a useful geomorphological tool. It should be applied using height as independent variable. R2=0.96 has been the final adjusted for the Almáchar River (Málaga, Spain), which is characterized by elevated slopes along large extensions of conventional vineyards. Furthermore, anomalies or ruptures (knickpoints) with different geomorphological and geological origins were detected and quantified. For this case, the intervals of heights with the most differences between the real and the adjusted profile were noted between 200-300 m and more than 500 m.a.s.l. The results showed a direct correlation between the decreasing of the anomalies with geomorphological origin and the natural vegetation extensions (0.86), and an increasing generated by the expansion of the vineyards and constructions of roads.
