Abstract

The Actiflo water treatment process has been successfully used for a variety drinking water treatment applications world-wide. The process is now being extended to other applications including treatment of waste water and combined sewer overflows. This compact physio-chemical process combines chemical precipitation and lamella settling with a new weighed settling technique which incorporated microsand into the sludge. It features rapid settling and very short reaction times. This article describes the process together with results of pilot and full-scale waste water treatment tests.
