Abstract

The objective of our research was to explore the critical success factors for successful ERP sys-tems implementation in public administration. First of all, the paper explains the nature of busi-ness process management, especially in public administration. Special attention is paid to ERP systems that are supporting business process management as well as critical success factors for their implementation are shown. Next, the case study of ERP systems implementation in the Pol-ish government agency is described. Then, research findings concerning critical success factors for ERP systems implementation in public administration in Poland are shown. The results ob-tained from this research may prove to be helpful for researchers and scholars in developing stud-ies on ERP systems supporting processes in public administration as well as government agencies interested in implementing ERP systems.
