Abstract

In this study, H∞ robust control is designed for vibration attenuation of six DOF structure using MR damper. A semi-active seismically excited, nonlinear structural system is modelled. The controller is designed for a reduced order model and applied to the full order model. The controller performance is verified experimentally. It is shown that the H∞ controller performance is satisfactory to suppress the vibration of the structure despite the presence of uncertainties.
