This work deals with the general dogmatic principles and foundations that describe and model arbitration on consumer matters, specially considering the nature of consumer relationships and the inequality between the parties of the conflict: provider and consumer. For this, we gathered the comparative and international law development around the topic, mainly the European community law, with a view of the regulation in the Chilean legal system, in particular.
