Nilai Efektif Sumber Daya Genetik Ternak Kerbau Lokal di Kawasan Geopark Ciletuh-Pelabuhanratu, Sukabumi

Abstract

This research was conducted in November 2019 until January 2020 in the Ciletuh- Pelabuhanratu Geopark Sukabumi, West Java. The purpose of this study was to study the population distribution, population structure, and Effective Value of local buffaloes in the Ciletuh-Pelabuhanratu Geopark area of Sukabumi. The research method used was a survey method by collecting data taken from the data of the Animal Health Center and the Sukabumi District Livestock Service. The data was calculated using a Population- Effective Value formula. Respondents were randomly selected in each District. The data that have been obtained both primary and secondary data are analysed using SWOT analysis. The results of this study indicated the fact that the population of buffaloes in the the Ciletuh-Pelabuhanratu Geopark is spread throught the District, the highest number of animal in the Cikakak District and the least in the Pelabuhanratu District. The population structure of local buffaloes in the Ciletuh-Pelabuhanratu Geopark is dominated by adult buffalo, this is because farmers increase buffalo to produce calf for sale. The Effective Value of the local buffalo population in the Ciletuh-Pelabuhanratu Geopark can be received safely, seen from the calculation of the Effective Value of the population of 1,904.9. The potencial carrying capacity of this area is quite good as seen from the result of the calculation of this area being able to be supprted by 246,873.98 animal units.
