Psychotherapy research focuses more and more on processes that could explain change during therapy sessions. Research on significant events represents a specific approach which examines the important moments identified as such by the client and the therapist in the therapeutic process. We first present the state of the art of the research ; then we illustrate the relevance of this approach through a research carried out in the clinical psychology department at the University of Mons. © Médecine & Hygiène.
