Abstract

It is intended to complete an inventory and analysis of various physical-functional variables related to the seasonal wetlands of the middle Guadalquivir. For this, an exhaustive methodological development has been carried out that has included the use of historical, documentary, bibliographic, cartographic and fieldwork sources. The results imply an important update of the existing data in inventories carried out throughout history, certainly incomplete or partial, having almost always been carried out from an eminently biological and environmentalist perspective, especially related to the conservation of certain bird species. On the contrary, the proposed approach affects the integral value of wetlands, as heritage assets, and the need to consider them within the framework of their integration into the territory.
