Keratoconus disease can be successfully treated with contact lenses. Although lens fitting can be difficult, it is typically quite successful and rewarding. Many contact lens options are available today for these patients. Motivation and patience are key ingredients. Patient education and close follow-up care are important. Caring for these patients is rewarding; the ability to provide these patients good, useful vision for many years, thus eliminating the need for surgery, has been quite satisfying both for the patients and for the author.
