PENGEMBANGAN KOLEKSI PADA PERPUSTAKAAN PEVITA DI ERA TRANSFORMASI DIGITAL

Abstract

This article discusses collection development at the Yogyakarta City Southern Regional Alternative Library (PEVITA) in an effort to improve library services in the era of digital transformation. This research aims to determine the development of the collection owned by the PEVITA library from year to year and to analyze new findings related to the increase in the number of users in 2024. The method used is descriptive qualitative through interviews and observations both offline and online. The research results show that libraries need to adapt physical and digital collections and utilize information technology to increase collection accessibility. Even though print (physical) collections still dominate, there is an urgent need to increase digital collections to attract reader interest. Data from the Yogyakarta City Library and Archives Service shows fluctuations in the number of visitors, with the hope of a significant increase in 2024 in line with the adaptation of library services to current community needs. This research provides recommendations for further development in digital collections and effective marketing strategies to increase reader participation.
