Abstract

Objective: to identify the lifestyle of university professors in the international scientific literature. Method: this integrative literature review was conducted in January 2021 in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), Latin American and Caribbean Health Science Literature (Lilacs), Current Nursing and Allied Health Literature (Cinahl), Web of Science and Scopus databases, by combining the descriptors “lifestyle” AND “faculty”. Results: analysis of the manuscripts indicated 21 articles, which addressed the following dimensions of lifestyle: family and friends, physical activity, nutrition, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, sleep and stress, and personality type. Conclusion: there is a gap in knowledge about specific habits such as illegal substance use and consumption of medications. A broader diagnostic view of faculty lifestyle is needed in new studies that can detail local region and cultural differences. Descriptors: Occupational Health; Universities; Faculty; Life Style.
