Abstract

A detailed review of the operation and chemistry of geysers, including chapters on the influence of man (including man-made geyser) and the practical uses of geothermal fluids. Geyers are not common, and form 10% or less of the number of hot springs in volcanic regions. There are 200 in Yellowstone, 100 in Iceland, and a few in New Zealand and Japan.-K.Clayton
