Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe; 1) the management of the cultural tourism object of the Makam Syuhada Lapan includes; a) planning stage, b) organizing stage, c) implementation stage, and d) controlling stage. 2) the potential for developing cultural tourism objects of the Makam Syuhada lapan as a cultural tourism object. This research was conducted with the concept of qualitative research using research informants managing cultural tourism objects, visitors, and the community around the Makam Syuhada lapan tourist attraction with the technique of taking informants using snowball sampling techniques. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation while data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, data interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study found that: 1) the manager of the cultural tourism object of the Makam Syuhada Lapan has managed the tourism object well including the stages of planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling. 2) The potential development of the Makam Syuhada Lapan tourist attraction includes facilities and infrastructure, accommodation, accessibility and transportation, friendliness and security. The Makam Syuhada Lapan tourist attraction has not become a leading tourist attraction and there is a need for Acehnese government policies in developing cultural tourism objects for the Makam Syuhada Lapan so that it can be known by local and foreign tourists.
