Abstract

Design of car frontal protection system is performed by use of artificial neural networks and genetic algorithm. Main attention is paid to optimal design of brackets. An analysis of car-pedestrian collision situation is performed by use of explicit FEA solver and the stiffness analysis with implicit FEA solver. Multicriteria optimal design problem is formulated and the necessary optimality conditions are derived. The obtained numerical results are validated against experimental test results and alternative numerical approach realized by use of software package LS-OPT.
