Abstract
Both sexes of Dasysyrphus neovenustus sp. n. are described and illustrated, and the characters separating them from the similar D. venustus are given. The distinctiveness of the new species is confirmed also by geometric morphometric analysis of the wing venation. The new species is known from Poland and Siberia (Russia).
