Abstract

This paper brings together the work of agronomists, dealing with the organization of farming territories, with a modelling method developed in artificial intelligence, namely the case-based reasoning. We try to show, through the example of the ROSA project, that the meeting of these two research fields can be profitable, as well for agronomy, searching for qualitative methods in order to better appreciate complexity, as for computer science, confronted with new modelling problems. In particular, we stress that this meeting led to a concrete process of joint knowledge building.
