Abstract
The composite of hybrid magnet consists of a combination of NdFeB magnetic particles with SrFe12O19 (Sr-ferrite) and uses epoxy resin as binder. This study was done to analyse the physical, mechanical (compressive strength) and magnetic properties of composite of hybrid magnets. The composition ratio Sr-ferrite-NdFeB in weight % was varied into several values: 90%: 10%, 80%: 20%, 70%: 30% and 60%: 40%, while the epoxy resin composition was 3% of total mass of magnetic particles. The process of forming pellet samples were done by cold compression using a 10 tonf force. Sample hybrid composite magnet systems Sr-ferrite-NdFeB with 30% and 40% NdFeB contents have the highest density (5.65-6.02 g/cm3) and magnetic flux (710-820 gauss). The composition ratio Sr-ferrite-NdFeB strongly affects the bulk density and magnetic flux, but it gives small influence on shore hardness, remanence, and coercivity.
