Abstract

Silver staining of the mitotic chromosomes of mirror carp (Cyprinus carpio) revealed existence of one pair of homologous submetacentric chromosomes which bear nucleolus organizer regions (NORs) on their entire shorter arms. An intimate association of one arm of NOR-bearing chromosome with its homologue has also been observed, which was further confirmed through sequential silver and chromomycin A3 staining. © 1998 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
