Abstract

A 7,5 kWp rated power grid connection plant installed at the Solar Energy Research Center (SERC) in Santiago de Cuba is used to assess direct current failures and quantify in a photovoltaic generator. It is part of the mathematical model of the photovoltaic generator, then a procedure is performed to quantify the operational losses of the photovoltaic generator and the mathematical model is adjusted to the actual conditions, through a polynomial adjustment. 100% of simulated failures were detected and identified, 99,6% of observations made are within the range set for a maximum false alarm cup of 0,4%, demonstrating its efficiency.
