Abstract

The article takes a look at the implementation of a new computer science curriculum for British schools. It notes the British Government's mandate to expand computer science teaching in schools and the launching of a computer science General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) in 2016. It cites the need for teachers to understand the "computational thinking" process, and be able to use new resources such as the Raspberry Pi Kit, and the "One Hundred Computing Lessons" book series.
